Frictive Pictures Receives Development Funding from the Province of New Brunswick
Frictive Pictures has received development funding from the province of New Brunswick Tourism, Heritage and Culture for their next two feature films. This in addition to the development funding they received from the national funding agency Telefilm Canada earlier last year.
Matt Rogers will write and direct Frictive Pictures’ second feature, The Last Tree, and Jon Dewar will write and direct the production company’s third film, The Wonderful Future. The funding will aid in the research, writing and development of the projects.
Along with Robert Gray, the three created their production company Frictive Pictures as a way to support each other’s filmmaking and made 12 short films before embarking on feature filmmaking. Those short films have played in festivals around the world, winning numerous awards.
In June 2017, Robert Gray and Frictive Pictures received funding for their first feature from Telefilm Canada’s The Talent Fund through the New Brunswick Film Co-op. The film, Entropic, also received development and production support from New Brunswick’s Tourism, Heritage and Culture. It is now available to rent or own on Apple, Amazon (USA, UK), Roku, and NFB (Canada).
